Robotic Dispensing Systems

Developed by i2i Engineering

Adhesive Dispensing and Processing

i2i Engineering has developed numerous products for adhesive dispensing as well as surface preparation for applications where bond strength is critical. In addition to meeting the needs of many applications, i2i has developed a best-in-class software package to allow teaching and modification of 3D paths. This includes touchscreen zooming and movement to mimic your favorite smartphone or device for intuitive use and navigation.

Corona/Plasma

For adhesive and bonding applications, i2i can provide automated 3D Corona and Plasma treatment of the surface of your product. This is a critical step in many applications, and improves bond strength without a need to use chemical or physical roughing steps.

Rotary Adhesive Dispensing

An adhesive dispenser is used to apply adhesive in a 3D Pattern. This system uses a camera to identify the part, and the actual length/width in order to scale the taught pattern to the exact size of the product. This allows a new recipe to be taught one item, and the system automatically adjusts the pattern for more than 50 variations, including mirroring for left vs. right.

This technology is ideally suited for shoes and apparel but can be used on other products that vary in size.

Spraybot – Liquid Sprayer

Spraybot is the second generation robotic sprayer based on the success found with IRIS. This unit can be set up to return product to the operator, or used inline with a pass-through conveyor mode, allowing higher throughput without operator loading and unloading.

It is also highly mobile for lean manufacturing to allow deployment for JIT (Just In Time) manufacturing.

Mobile Glue Sprayer

For processes that don’t run 24/7 we can make the system mobile to move from line to line. This applies to all applications, including adhesive dispensing, packaging, and machine tending.

Pass-Through Robotic Dispenser

The IRIS 1 Pass-Through Robotic Dispenser uses the same robot cell as our IRIS unit but is docked to a pass-through conveyor.

In the video included here, an operator is seen loading the machine. However, the IRIS 1 is ideally suited for fully automated lines to receive product from upstream automation and send it to a secondary processing/packaging station.
