Laser Etching Systems
Automated Laser Etching and EngravingLaser Etching Machines by i2i
i2i Engineering is experienced in integration and automation of industrial lasers and willing to work with virtually any laser manufacturer. Our current partners include Keyence, Trotec, and TYKMA-Electrox. Our designs range from assisting with easy to use fixtures to fully automated systems including post-mark inspection for presence and readability. Laser etching is a proven process used to supplement older technologies such as dot-peening, scribing, pad and screen printing.
Cartridge Loaded Laser Etcher
The Cartridge Loaded Laser Etcher is a stand-alone system for marking small tags for devices with part and serial numbers. This system allows the feeding of 7 different part geometries with recipes for approximately 50 different SKU’s. Selection of the recipe prompts which fixture/plate to load, and confirms the correct fixture is loaded with error checking via sensors included. Once a magazine is empty it can be replaced with a full stack, and the finished parts are automatically ejected to a finished goods bin.

Laser Infeed Magazine
The Laser Infeed Magazine is used to orient and locate parts for i2i’s Cartridge Loaded Laser System.

Fully Automated Laser Etching System
i2i Engineering’s Fully Automated Laser Etching System is a Magazine-fed system used to de-stack, etch, inspect, and feed finished parts to downstream operations.
The camera uses OCR (optical character recognition) and other machine vision tools to check if the text etched is correct and legible. Detection of blemishes to the product can also be detected.
Automatic indexing of a serial number is included for lot traceability in the software developed by i2i Engineering.

Servo-Centering Auto Laser
The Servo-Centering Auto Laser is a laser etching system that is loaded with stacks of parts. A combination of fin fixtures and an auto-centering servo clamp system ensure proper orientation of a wide variety of parts with varying shapes, sizes, and orientations required.
This system provides excellent options for customers with dissimilar parts who still want a very short change-over between SKU’s.

Centering Fixture
The Centering Fixture is a manual fixture that can be used with virtually any laser. The two sides are mechanically linked to allow users to clamp/center parts for job shop applications where etching one part at a time is sufficient.
